A real challenge for the heavy brigade.
The undulations creep up and up for the first 5 miles. There is a reward after the next two miles with long downhills and 3 miles flat along the seafront. Although I was disappointed at 2Hour 23 seconds I have to be pleased at knocking 17 minutes off my chip time from last year! I thought the gods were with me when I heard Scotland the Brave being blasted out by the Scots pipe band at the beginning of the race. Howerver, without my wife in Hastings shouiting me on for the last half mile(she is very loud) I was unable to claw in that 23 seconds(*ucking hills!!). I was also unable to produce my trademark final 50 yard sprint usually in an attempt to 'impress' my kids. Nevertheless, this race has a great atmosphere and I managed to fill my commemorative beer tankard with a few stellas to celebrate a better performance.

Hearty well done there.
Sounded gruelling to me, until you mentioned the Stellas that is.
