Don't know too much, but know it is free.
The club has already entered.
Assuming wear club colours, but I will check and confirm shortly. |

cheers karl its free its free
parking looks very bad as the car park mentioned has room for about 10 cars at a guess. but ive had a good nose of the area on google earth and highwood lane looks a good bet , then its just a walk across 2 footy pitches to the clubhouse. having said that if there are footy matches on as i suspect there would be that might not be so good ........... |

Yes David, these Essex league races are completely free as the club have paid the fee to run in the league. Hopeffully we shold have somewhere between 6 & 8 men running so enough for a team.
Hopefully we'll have runners in most races so if anyone can get over early to watch then all the better. Vocal assistance to club members will be most welcome |

No need to register, just turn up and run. When you've finished just pass your finish disc to myself, Karl or Clive at the finish and we'll fill in the score sheets.
T-shirts are fine with club colours on, although given the forecast you'll probably be needing a vest, with suntan lotion and a cap
On a serious note, with the dry and sunny weather of the last few days it's possible you might get away without wearing spikes so best to take your race shoes along as well as spikes and choose when you get there and check out conditions. |

Just to say what a good day it was, plenty of sunshine, all runners doing well apart from Karen taking a fall on the bridge.

yep, great sunny day. Well done to all the kids and adults taking part in this race. For some their first XC Race, and some atrocious lack of marshalls on the top field spooking some of our youngsters. But they (nearly) all made it round (Well done Liam, glad you are OK) and they all live to tell the tale and all keen to go to the next race. So rubbish organisation hasn't put them off, luckily.
The marshalls should come to our XC to see how it is done properly !

Really well done to all today was great to see so many Benfleet vests in all age groups.
The ladies got 2nd team (Catherine Jac Charlotte and me) which is amazing with that level of competition and our first time in this event. I was the weak runner in a team of outstanding ladies but I'm happy to hang onto their coat-tails and join them in celebrating a 2nd place and beating every other AC apart from Colchester and Tendring. Well done ladies you were awesome
Not sure on the mens results yet but they did really well too in a top field. Adam was 24th under 17 which was excellent. I know Katie Sophie and Megan got 9th team in their age group so some great performances today and lovely to see so many juniors.
To everyone in the team photo it has come out really well so if any of you men in the photo would like a copy emailed to them send me a personal message on this forum with your address and I'll send a copy to you. I think I have all the ladies' email addresses.

Thanks Karl - he's ok now. I think being a 'first timer' - the occasion got to him a bit, but it's not put him off.
Great day, see you Tuesday

well done to everyone who endured that heat and a poor course .whats great about these races is because were not all thrown in together you get to cheer on the others in their races and likewise get cheered on in your own. thanks for all the support.
i actually beat my official 5k pb on route so all you wooses who avoid cross country take note.
i also made some new friends from my antics on the bridge |

All those who competed in the 1st race of the series - go and buy the Echo today. I have managed to get the Echo to print the photo my friend (who was spending his vacation from America watching me run - the poor man!) took so there is a great pic of all the men and women who raced in the 1st event
Nice piece on the ladies too and all overall positions for Benfleet in the Junior Age Groups too.
All men who competed in the last race are mentioned in the Results section.
So go BUY !!
