| Are you asking me Vic cos I know the answer I've been a member long enough! They were both unmarried then! In the Cummins days I wasn't that much slower than her now I can only watch in awe. Surprising what a few years does! |

| Although not a member of Benfleet Running club for a couple more years I did this - 3:28:32, not bad considering my 20 a day habit. Warning signs were there as I loved training for it. At the time was happy to tick it off the list and hung up my shoes for a full year then agreed to do another with a mate after a heavy night out - probably after we'd watched London 2003 on TV. Discovered Paris was not via a ballot so we agreed on that started training again, tore my knee cartilege, had an op, got back into it, didn't fancy winter training alone and joined Benfleet. Talk about a life changing move! Completely inspired by everyone there, from the fast boys I was in awe of (Jez, Toddy, Meady et all) through to the slower runners that ground out 5 plus hours working just as hard but on their feet for twice as long. Now a bona fida runnning and triathlon geek as a result. London and Benfleet fully to blame. |

Thanks Graham you are added. And a great quote too thanks I'll use that. 2002 was my debut year too. As you will see I fared far less well than you! However I remain proud of this debut as I like to think I am an inspiration to everyone that even a 5:38 debutant can break 3:30 with a bit of hard work.
