Hello everyone I am posting past results here so that all members can check them to make sure everyone who ran in that year is on my list of results to be included in the Yearbook.

If you are missing or there is a mistake please post here.

2000 RESULTS
Frank Treanor 2:54:01
Jez Mancer 3:04:36
Lucy Thompson 3:20:48
Tracy Lewis 3:23:04
John Austin 3:25:47
Val Sparks 3:39:49
Vic McCloud 3:39:49
Martin Hughes 3:47:44
Terry Turner 3:48:00
Mark Williams 3:49:25
Sarah Norton 5:15:17 (run time 5:03:46)
The times I have are all official clock times.

This is a real problem year for me.  I have the Times newspaper results but only a few names are highlighted and I don't have a full list of who ran that year.  That alone would not help anyway as this year precedes those contained on the website I have been using to get pre-2003 results (earliest is 2001) so I need help here with names of any who ran and times - I don't mind scouring results within a small time band but it is really an impossible task without some idea of a runner's time as well as the name they ran in because there are thousands and thousands of results.

What I do know from an old press report is that Dom Keaney, Rob Hume and Mark Williams all ran and all got PB's.  I cannot find them as I need an idea of their times to search.

At least I should get one answer - Mark what time did you run please?

Debbie

I was Nigel Kimpton that year.  I went in for a massage on the Thursday before and he asked if I was running on Sunday.  I said no, then Nigel asked if I wanted his place.  So with no distance training whatsoever, I ran London on the Sunday.

Went through 3 miles in about 20:20!!  Couldn't run from 14 miles so virtually walked/shuffled to the finish.

I do know I was quite fast that year.  I went out the Sunday post London to do 12 miles and ran the last nine averaging 6:30 pace!!!  If only I trained properly for the marathon compress

Mark

Thanks Mark that's quite a story too!  I'll be including that in my text about the marathon for that year.

Another 2000 appeal - anyone got a team photo please?

Excellent Sarah thanks.  You are added.  Do you remember anyone else I don't already have that ran that year?

Okay Sarah found you in the sea of Times newspaper names seems your clock time was 5:15:17 - figures I remember it took me a good 10 minutes to cross the line on my 1st one and I was in Pen 5.  Whilst scouring for your result I found these

J Hood 5:12:51
P O'Leary 5:14:18

I would expect both these runners to be much quicker than these times if they are the Benfleet runners John Hood and Pat O'Leary.  Anyone know if they are ours and if someone else ran in their names?

Thanks Terry.  Without a name I have no hope of finding your official time so I have included the time of 3:48.
